On September 24, 2011, Quantum employees and their families enjoyed a fun time at High Point Farm in Clarksburg, Maryland. Picnickers were able to participate in several fun activities. A clown entertained the children with balloon animals. Guests could sing some karaoke, play some volley ball, and enter a cornhole contest. Everyone had fun making scarecrows and decorating them to bring home to their properties.

On September 13, 2010 the city of Bladensburg honored James Harris for his valiant effort in trying to save the life of one of the Emerson House residents. He was also given an award from Quantum for his bravery. Here at Quantum, we pride ourselves on loyalty and dedication to serving our residents, and we are grateful to call Mr. Harris one of our own. Below is an article featured in The Gazette newspaper regarding the incident.
Bladensburg honors ‘hero’ resident for life-saving attempt
In early August, Harris found a resident unresponsive in his apartment and performed CPR on him until emergency services arrived. Neither Harris nor paramedics were able to revive the man.
“There is no higher form of showing care than to try to save someone’s life,” said Town Administrator John Moss before presenting Harris with a plaque. “[You] could not say that there was anyone better in this community to receive our top honor.”
Harris, who has lived in Bladensburg for two years, said he was proud simply to live in the community.
“It’s an honor to be a part of Bladensburg,” Harris said. I wake up in the morning and I say to myself before I leave the house, ‘how can I do a good deed for someone today?’”
